Paul turned 10 last Friday, the 12th! We celebrated his birthday among with 15 of his closest friends! He has so many friends that it was not easy for him to narrow it down to 15. I don't know how we could have fit a total of 20 people in our humble abode, but we did. Because of the wet weather, we did almost all of the activities inside except for the pinata.

He had a backwards birthday party. For the last two weeks, I have had to think backwards!

We tried to decorate as much as possible backwards. We had all the birthday greetings backwards (the one inside & the one on the pinata). We hung the balloons filled with air only (no helium) from the ceiling hanging down. We turned all our picture frames upside down, so it looked like we were all standing on our heads. Nancy came to help decorate & prepare the food. Thanks my friend!

We greeted each guests with "Bye" and "Thanks for coming" when they get to the door. They all came with their clothes backwards. It was very unusual and fun. The gifts where put under the table, instead of on top. They were also given name tags with their names spelled backwards. They were to call each other with their new names.

I had plain white T-shirts for the boys & pink ones for the girls ready to be decorated. I had stencils and fabric markers waiting for them as they arrived. These were their party favors along with some candies they got from the pinata.

After the T-shirt decorating, Paul opened his birthday presents. For games, we did "You Are Who" & Backwards Charades. They also got to write their guesseson how many gum drops were in a bowl. And of course, the one who guessed it the farthest from the correct amount of gum drops won! But I didn't tell them before they guessed. :)

After the indoor games, we went out in the drizzly, wet weather for the pinata. It only took a few tries before the pinata gave in. The kids of course, went diving in the wet, muddy grass for the candies! It was such a sight. If it weren't for the risk of breaking my camera-- I would have taken some pictures.

Dinner came next with 7-Down (upside down canned soda), pizza, hotdogs, and vegetables with dip.

Everyone seemed to have a great time. Thanks so much Garrett, for helping John & me! We couldn't have survived it without your help. Out thanks to Michelle, Tauna, Nancy & Malissa also!
