White Bread

2 c warm water (110 F)
2/3 c white sugar
1 1/2 tbsp yeast
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 c vegetable oil
6 c bread flour (or all-purpose flour)

In a large bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water, & then stir yeast. Allow yeast to grow about 8 mins.

Mix salt & oil into yeast. Mix in flour one cup at a time. Knead. Allow to rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
Punch down dough. Knead for a few minutes with a few more tbsps of flour. Divide in half. Shape into loaves & place into 2 well greased 9x5 inch loaf pans.

Allow to rise for 30 mins, or until dough has risen 1 inch above pans.

Bake at 350 F for about 30-35 mins. Cool in a wire rack.
